We've been making do with random rumors and reports, and Advanced Micro Devices still hasn't officially cleared things up as to what, exactly, will come during the next two years.

Today, it's still just a rumor we get to peruse, but at least it seems genuine and information-packed.

Provided by DigiTimes, the report says Kabini APUs, built for ST3 notebook sockets and FS1B for desktops, will be launched in Q1 2014, in dual-core (E1-2650) and quad-core variants (A4-5350 and A4-5150).

Mass production will begin in February, but the formal announcement will only be made in March. It seems early, until you remember that Kabini was supposed to come out in late 2013.

Beema will succeed it, in late 2014 or early 2015. The same socket types will be used, but with more HSA technologies.

Meanwhile, the AM3 socket will retire (by the end of 2014), as will FM1 (the first APU socket).

That said, Carrizo, an APU with AMD next-generation “Excavator” cores will debut in 2015. Obviously, details are sparse.
