Everything is perfectly in order says the fabless company

We just got word that AMD is pushing back its Trinity APU launch date. Don’t worry, this only refers to desktop CPUs that fit in the FM2 socket and the delay in question is only a single day, as the new date has been set for the 2nd of October, 2012.

We don’t exactly know what prompted AMD not to launch its desktop APUs on a Monday, but this is probably a last minute decision.

So here you have it. The desktop version of the new Trinity APUs with the enhanced Piledriver cores is coming next Tuesday.

In the announcement, the company talks about increased overclocking capabilities and about breaking the “1GHz barrier on the GPU!”

Let’s hope that they are talking about the integrated graphics processing unit (iGPU) that’s located inside the new APUs.

UPDATE :

AMD has promptly responded to our news report and the company’s official stand somewhat clarifies the situation.
