This, at least, is what the rumor mill is singing at present

Now that AMD's Richland accelerated processing units are coming out, even if only the laptop chips have debuted so far, the company is setting up price cuts for the previous generation.

That means that APUs based on the Trinity architecture will become a bit cheaper soon.

AMD didn't really say anything to this effect recently, not officially, but the rumor mill never sleeps, and Digitimes keeps a close eye on it.

The A8-5600K and A4-4000 are the only ones “confirmed” so to speak, but the others should go through a price cut as well.

It is double likely since desktop-ready A-Series Richland chips (A10-6800K and A8-6600K) are reportedly set for the second quarter.

In addition to APUs, some socket AM3+ CPUs could get their tags reduced (FX-8320, FX-6300, and FX-4300).
