Windows 10 is projected to launch in the second half of 2015

Microsoft is hard at work to bring Windows 10 on the market sometime this year, and users are not the only ones who are keen to get their hands on the new operating system.

PC manufacturers are very excited about the new Windows, and some believe that Windows 10 has what it takes to breathe life into the collapsing PC market and boost sales in the short term.

AMD’s chief executive Lisa Su told VentureBeat that the PC market continues to be “unpredictable,” but she expects Windows 10 to increase demand for new computers thanks to the improvements that Microsoft is making to the desktop.

All these changes, including the addition of a new Start menu, the integration of Spartan browser, multiple desktops, and Cortana, make Windows 10 easier to use with a mouse and keyboard, so the customer appeal of PCs running it is expected to grow rapidly.

“It’s hard to predict when the overall PC market will normalize,” Su said. “But we are preparing for a better second half of the year as Windows 10 computers make their way into the market. We are all hopeful that the Windows 10 launch will be a strong catalyst for the market,” she added.

RTM expected in June

Windows 10 is projected to make its public debut in the second half of the year, with some sources claiming that Microsoft is planning to release it in August.

As far as RTM is concerned, existing rumors point to June 2015 as the possible date when Windows 10 could be ready, so new devices that would be launched with the new OS are expected to be announced between June and August.

Obviously, it’s too early to discuss release dates for Windows 10, as the operating system is still in development right now, but Microsoft is clearly working at full speed to bring it out as soon as possible, as the new software is expected to be a game changer for everyone.
