The ATI Radeon HD 5670 has been in the works for quite a while and, now, an early review seemed more than ready to get budget-conscious users planning. However, it looks like AMD might be planning to soon release another card, known as the Radeon HD 5830, that will supposedly fill the gap between the Radeon HD 5770 and the Radeon HD 5850.

The CPU and GPU maker has not exactly been flourishing on the central processing unit side, but its graphics business unit, ATI, has definitely been making a name for itself. AMD's graphics releases have not only made it the sole supplier of DirectX 11 GPUs, but its Radeon HD 5970 currently holds the title of the world's fastest graphics card. The release of the HD 5670 and HD 5830 will enable the company to cover the entire graphics market.

AMD has already had the DirectX 11 graphics market all to itself for several months. Now that NVIDIA's Fermi is finally nearing its official debut, Advanced Micro Devices seems bent on making the most of its monopoly. The CPU and graphics-solution developer is reportedly set to release the new model before the end of the ongoing month.

Unfortunately, the market rumors did not contain very clear product specifications. Nevertheless, the bits and pieces that can be distinguished are the use of the GDDR5 memory and performance capabilities along the line of the HD 4890. If the reports prove genuine, the Radeon HD 5830 may become the first HD 5800-series graphics adapter to cost less than $200.

Currently, the HD 4890, which is doing its best to cover the aforementioned Radeon HD 5770 – Radeon HD 5850 gap, is facing competition from the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 200 series.

No official release, availability and product pricing details are known at this time, although the official launch is said to be scheduled for January 25.
