The latest news on Advanced Micro Devices unveils the fact that the chip maker plans to rename The Foundry Company sometime next year. At this point in time, it is not certain which name it will receive, but The Foundry Company will surely not go too long with the entity. As many of you already know, AMD split into two entities a few weeks ago, in an effort to remain profitable.

The Foundry Company is the part of AMD that will take care of the manufacturing process. Moreover, while AMD has priority in the fabrication lines, the entity will also take orders from other partners. In addition, AMD announced that it plans to continue working with other manufacturing partners as well, one of them being TSMC.

Other pieces of news on AMD reveal that it might plan a fresh 32nm K10.5 chip to follow Deneb, and that this chip will not be Bulldozer. According to the news published on Fudzilla, the Sunnyvale company will not have to rely on the Deneb 45nm K10.5 architecture for the following two years, although the roadmap AMD officially unveiled points towards it.

AMD announced that its upcoming Deneb processor is expected to stand into the market all the way from the early 2009 to the late 2010, or even afterwards, while a new architecture, code-named Bulldozer, is expected to surface sometime in 2011. According to Fudzilla, the chip maker will not wait that long before releasing a new chip with a fresh architecture.

Moreover, the news says that AMD will probably launch a 32nm K10.5 chip before Bulldozer, and that it should surface in the Q4 2009 - early 2010 time frame. The chip is expected to mark the transition from Deneb to Bulldozer, meaning that its architecture will not be completely new. Afterwards, AMD will be ready to release the fresh Bulldozer architecture, expected to be a match for its competitor, Intel.
