It will drop the HD 8000 naming scheme for OEM parts and use 9000 instead

It looks like those rumors about AMD skipping a product line naming scheme were true: the company is preparing the Radeon HD 9000 series.

According to ChinaDIY, Advanced Micro Devices is getting ready to unleash the Radeon HD 9970 in October this year (2013).

That may not even be the only board that will come out at that time.

In any case, it looks as though the Sunnyvale, California-based company wants the card out at the same time as the release of Battlefield 4, a Gaming Evolved title.

The adapter will be stronger than NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 780 but slower than the GeForce GTX Titan (not surprising).

Its price will be of $550 most likely (€428 – 550), but only if we get lucky. The sum isn't known for sure, and may go higher than that.
