Ark PC, a Japanese computer builder best known to Asian computer users, has just announced a new desktop computer dubbed the Tathlum Gaming PC which was designed around AMD’s FX-Series CPUs and Radeon HD 7970 graphics card.
At the heart of the new gaming system stands AMD’s most powerful desktop processor released so far, the eight-core FX-8150, which is seated on an ASRock Fatal1ty 990FX motherboard.
In the standard configuration, AMD’s flagship CPU is paired together with 8GB of system memory working at DDR3-1333MHz speeds, according to TechPowerUp.
As mentioned before, the graphics card of choice was a Radeon HD 7970 with 3GB of video buffer, which is definitely a welcomed addition since the new Tathlum desktop is targeting gamers.
Storage is provided by a 1TB Hitachi DeskStar hard disk drive with a spindle speed of 7200RPM and SATA 6Gbps support, but users can of course opt for having this replaced with an SSD or add a second HDD to build a RAID array.
Other features include onboard HD audio, a DVD super-multi drive and Gigabit Ethernet, while the CPU is chilled by a Zalman CNPS9900 MAX Red cooler.
All these components are housed inside a Cooler Master HAF 912 Advanced chassis and power is provided by a SilverStone ST75F-SST-P 750W 80 Plus Silver PSU.
The system comes pre-installed with the 64-bit version of the Windows 7 Home Premium operating system.
Right now, pricing for the base version of the Tathlum Gaming PC was established at 167,800 JPY (about $2,175 US), but so far we don’t know if this system will be released in other parts of the world.
Ark PC bundles its system with a 23-inch display, with 1080p resolution, and can also include a series of other accessories such as a monitor, keyboard or a set of speakers.
