In case you readers haven't been online to look for graphics cards lately, AMD's Radeon HD 7700- and 7800-series adapters have become cheaper than they used to be.

A search through product listing on online retailers will show that the Radeon HD 7850 1 GB ships for $159 after a rebate (159 Euro, give or take), while the Radeon HD 7850 2 GB is priced at $189 / 189 Euro.

Meanwhile, the HD 7770 GHz Edition goes for $119 / 119 Euro.

For perspective, the 7850 models hovered and even exceeded the $200 mark before, while the 7770 can, even now, be found at $130-$160.

"With the holiday gaming season around the corner, we would like to share with you the exceptional value and performance that gamers can realize with AMD graphics this season for under $200. The 2012 holiday season will be outstanding for AMD Radeon gamers," AMD reportedly stated.

We should mention that AMD did not actually cut prices, but its partners among manufacturers did, in order to stay competitive.
