Over half of advertising is making sure people know about a product, especially when brand strength is high. Showing that it knows this, AMD has revealed just how many products running Windows 8 its CPUs will be found in.

Advanced Micro Devices hasn't been nearly as visible in the media as Intel, as far as Microsoft's launch of Windows 8 devices is concerned.

That doesn't mean it isn't going to be part of the movement though. In fact, the Sunnyvale, California-based corporation has revealed precisely how many design wins it has: 125.

ASUS, Fujitsu, Dell, Sony, Samsung, HP Toshiba and Lenovo will all launch notebooks, desktops and tablets equipped with one of its processors, mostly Trinity and Z-60 APUs (accelerated processing units). The occasional 8-core Vishera will be spotted as well.

As time goes on, more products like this should emerge. Their advantages over most Wintel devices are superior graphics and lower prices.
