While the technical details regarding MSI's FX610 notebook have been available ever since late August, the manufacturer took its sweet time before rolling the portable computing system onto the market, but it seems that the AMD-based device is finally available on the market, just in time for the Christmas shopping spree. As Fudzilla reports, it would seem that the FX610 will actually be available in two different versions with different price points, the separating factors being both the CPU of choice and the size of the available hard-disk drive. So, first of all, there's the MSI FX610-P8447W7P, this version coming equipped with AMD's Phenom II Triple-core P840 CPU and 500GB of HDD space, while the MSI FX610-P3443W7P features AMD's Athlon II dual-core P340 and 320GB of HDD space. However, apart from these features, the two 15.6-inch machines pack very similar hardware, since they're both built around an AMD RS880M+SB710 chipset, accompanied by the ATI Radeon Mobility HD 5470 with 1GB of DDR3 memory. Additionally, the computing devices will come equipped with 4GB of memory, 1366x768 pixels resolution LED backlit screen, WiFi, HD Webcam, integrated "stereo theater class speakers" with THX TruStudio Pro, as well as plenty of networking and connectivity options, including 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, HDMI, VGA, 3x USB 2.0, eSATA, Gigabit Ethernet, and a 6-cell battery. Furthermore, both notebooks weigh roughly 2.4 kg and feature MSI's Cinema Pro, Turbo Drive Engine, Eco Engine technologies, multi-touch touchpad and will come equipped with the Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OS. The Dual-core Athlon II FX610 will retail for around 599 Euro, while the Phenom II model will go a bit upwards, selling for around 699, with both models being apparently available via the company's usual retail outlets across Europe (no word yet about availability in other parts of the world, though).
