AMD has rolled out a new graphics package targeted at its embedded GPUs and APUs, namely the 14.9 Catalyst driver, which installs the 14.201.1009 version and is compatible with both 32- and 64-bit variants of Microsoft’s Windows 7 and 8.1 operating systems.

When it comes to the supported products, this new release can update AMD’s E8860, E6760, and E6460 GPUs, as well as the 1st (formally codenamed “eTrinity”) and 2nd (formally codenamed “Bald Eagle”) generation R-Series accelerated processor units.

In addition to that, the present package can also be used along with the producer’s G-Series APUs and SoC (System on a Chip), Radeon HD 6970M and HD 5770 products, as well as AMD’s latest Steppe Eagle SoC.

Another aspect that I must highlight is that there are two packages available for download, one compatible with the 32-bit version of Windows 8.1, and the other targeted at Windows 7 (both bit variants) and 8.1 (only the 64-bit architecture) platforms.

Moreover, bear in mind that while the latter package includes support for all the aforementioned products, the first driver (for Windows 8.1 32-bit) cannot be used along with AMD’s Steppe Eagle System on a Chip.

With this in mind, from the links below, follow the one that best describes your system’s platform and bit version, apply the package, and reboot the computer in order to ensure all the changes take effect.
