The company is thinking of banding with Google and its partners

Chromebooks so far haven't been something that Advanced Micro Devices was that concerned with, but that doesn't mean the company isn't at least considering them a viable way forward.

Whether it's because of the spirit of solidarity, or the fact that Chromebooks have started to incorporate on-board storage now, AMD is thinking of powering some.

First off, it needs to get acquainted with the concept, and Google's supply chain, as well as the ones already selling Chromebooks.

Right now, AMD is still mostly focused on the Windows platform, but the Chrome OS will start getting attention too.

Better price-performance, compared to Intel, will be the core of the Sunnyvale, California-based company's tactic.

We'll have to keep waiting for updates on this front. Who knows, maybe AMD will get that final step forward and make some Android-powered products too. So far, it has avoided this, but people can hope.
