Last we heard about AMD's Radeon graphics card portfolio, the Sunnyvale, California-based IT player had decided to delay the launch of Radeon HD 8000 video boards until the fourth quarter of 2013.

Now, new information has come to light, thanks to the teleconference call that the company has held with members of the press.

While Radeon HD 8000 boards will, indeed, take a while to arrive, there will be new HD 7000 cards in the meantime.

The strategy for the first 9 months of the year includes three main prongs:

- Existing mid-to-high end cards will ship with the now famous Never Settle game bundles. - Making "robust roadmap additions to the existing Radeon HD 7000 lineup," as AMD put it. - Implementing performance improvements to current devices will be sought via driver updates.
