After parting ways with Chief Executive Officer Dirk Meyer just a little over a month ago, AMD just lost two more senior executives, reports suggesting that COO Bob Rivet and VP of Corporate Strategy Marty Seyer have also resigned from their posts.

Both Rivet and Seyer are stepping down effective February 8, but they will remain with AMD for a short while to ease the transition.

“Bob Rivet and Marty Seyer made significant contributions to the company over the years,” reads an e-mail sent by AMD to the CRN publication.

“Both are leaving to pursue new opportunities and are expected to remain through a brief interim period to help ensure seamless transitions,” continues the same e-mail.

Until a replacement is found, Marty Seyer's responsibilities were passed over to Harry Wolin, senior vice president, general counsel and secretary at AMD while John Docherty received the tasks and attributions of COO Bob Rivet.

Docherty now leads AMD's Global Operations organization and is responsible of the company's assembly, test, mark and pack operations, supply chain, global supply management, global logistics, and sales & operations planning.

Bob Rivet joined AMD in 2000 as the company's CFO after previously working as senior vice president and director of finance for the semiconductor products sector of Motorola.

As X-bit Labs reports, during his time spent with AMD, Mr. Rivet hasn't made any major strategic decisions, but he was very influential and very important at AMD.

Marty Seyer joined AMD in 2002 as the vice president of server business and oversaw the development of the AMD Opteron server business and the company's corporate strategy.

Previously he worked for Penguin Computing, NCR Corp and Dell, where he led Dell’s entry into the server market with the PowerEdge brand.

This latest development comes one month after AMD has announced that its CEO, Dirk Meyer, decided to leave the company.
