One of the cheapest AMD Llano notebook out there, but packs only a E2-3000M APU

HP has started selling in Europe a new Pavilion g7 17.3-inch notebook model that is based on AMD's Llano accelerated processing units (APUs) and comes with a low-end price tag, making it one of the cheapest such solutions to arrive on the market.

The notebook itself is built around the same chassis that HP uses for the Intel-based version of the Pavilion g7, which means that it comes with the same dark umber or steel gray metallic finish and a chiclet-styled keyboard with a numeric keypad.

On the inside however, users will be greeted by a dual-core AMD E2-3000M APU with 1.8GHz clock speed and an integrated Radeon HD graphics core.

This goes by the name of Radeon HD 6380G and packs 160 shaders running at a frequency of 400MHz.

The rest of the notebook configuration can include as much as 8GB of system memory (the standard version include 4GB), carries a 5400RPM hard drive providing 640GB of storage capacity, as well as a DVD burner.

Connectivity features are pretty much standard, but it's worth noting that HP's laptop comes equipped with a pair of HDMI and VGA video outputs, even though SuperSpeed USB 3.0 support is sadly lacking.

As far as the 17.3-inch screen is concerned, this has a native resolution pf 1600x900 pixels and it's seconded by a pair of Altec Lansing speakers, so the Pavilion g7 should provide a decent multimedia experience for most users out there.

All these are powered by a 6-cell Li-Ion battery pack, and the whole notebook weights 3.1kg or about 6.83 pounds.

As noted earlier, pricing for the Pavilion g7 starts at €399 ($547), and the notebook can also be equipped with faster AMD Llano APUs if users are willing to shell out the extra cash. (via Laptop Spirit)
