Together with the company's flagship Phenom II X4 980 Black Edition processors, AMD has also introduced four other CPUs to its lineup that packs dual and quad computing cores and are based on the company's Athlon II and Phenom II designs.

Outside of the 980 BE, the other Phenom II chip announced today is called the X2 570 and this features two processing cores that are clocked at 3.5GHz.

Each of the two cores sports 512KB of L2 cache and the CPU also packs 6MB of shared Level 3 cache memory.

Just like the 980, this is also a Black Edition part, meaning that it comes with a fully unlocked multiplier to allow for higher overclocking headroom. The chip's TDP is rated at 80W.

The three remaining Athlon II processors are the X3 460, X4 620e and X3 425e. Only the first chip is a standard voltage part while the other two CPUs are energy efficient versions of processors that AMD has previously released.

As far as the Athlon II X3 460 is concerned, this features three computing cores that are clocked at 3.4GHz, 1.5 MB of Level 3 cache memory and its TDP is rated at 95W.

The Athlon II X4 620e and X3 425e have four and respectively three processing cores, 2.6GHz and 2.7GHz standard operating frequencies, 512KB of Level 2 cache per core, and their TDP is estimated at 45W.

Not all the models can be found on the company's official price list, they were all added to AMD's product database that is available on its website.

AMD is expected to launch two other CPUs by the end of this quarter, the quad-core Phenom II 850 and Athlon II X2 255e, and both of these are based on the Propus core that doesn't feature any Level 3 cache. (via CPU-World)
