The pinout is almost the same as for Richland and the clock seems to be 3.5 GHz

AMD's Kaveri accelerated processing unit technology will succeed Richland in 2014, but information is scarce. Fortunately, leaks keep happening, and one such leak has just jumped into my line of sight.

Basically, the folks at VR-Zone China somehow got a hold of an engineering sample of the Kaveri APU.

Bearing the part number ZD356195I4468, it is a “Steamroller” quad-core unit with, presumably, a clock of 3.5 GHz (surmised from the D35 in the name).

The chip should also possess 4 MB of L2 cache memory and a pinout similar to the Richland, only with a few more pins tossed in.

Thus, the socket FM2 won't be compatible. Only a new, FM2+ one, like AM3+ was to AM3.

AMD will hold the 2013 Developer Summit from November 11 to November 13. More info should come out then.
