The processor will not have the performance shortcomings of its predecessor

Kabini and Kaveri APUs are already shipping to developers, but consumers still have to wait for them to debut. At least we have some information that can help them pass the time over for a while.

Thanks to Fudzilla, we can lay to rest one of the biggest concerns about laptop-aimed Kabini accelerated processing units: performance.

AMD has been depicting it as a strong chip, but after Brazos 2.0 proved so underwhelming in 2012, some were concerned the new platform would be the same.

Fortunately, that won't be a problem because Kabini is twice as fast.

The A6-5200, for instance, has Radeon HD 8400 graphics and was tested on the AMD Larne reference laptop design, with 4 GB DDR3 1600 RAM and Windows 8 64-bit. Battery life won't suffer at all either.
