AMD has no intention to give up the lawsuit against Intel. In fact, the company has already subpoenaed 12 companies, asking them to turn in the documents concerning the business relations with Intel.
Among the 12 subpoenaed companies, there are system producers Hewlett-Packard, Dell, IBM, Lenovo and Gateway, as well as distributors, such
as Best Buy, Circuit City, CompUSA and Fry's Electronics.
In consequence, AMD is expecting somewhere around 6 and 8 Terrabytes of data. This humongous amount of information will be searched by 100 lawyers.
The lawsuit started in this year's June, when AMD first filed the complaint.
Intel's only official reaction was to deny all of AMD's allusions, saying that the policy to cut the prices and to offer partners preferential acquisition terms are normal competition methods.
One of AMD's lawyers, Chuck Diamond, said that all the subpoenaed companies have to provide the documents in question in 30 days.
The conflicts between AMD and Intel are not something new; the two processor producers had another 8 year "lawsuit session", between 1987 and 1995.
