The news that AMD has filed two lawsuits against Intel, one in the US, and the other one in Japan, can be considered the subject of the week.
AMD's actions clearly indicate that this company is not willing to tolerate anymore Intel's monopolistic practices.
After posting on the company's
site the complaint filed in the US, AMD has also published a letter from Hector Ruiz as an advertisement in all major American newspapers.
It's obvious that AMD is counting on the support of the public opinion.
On the other side of the barricade the reactions are strangely calm. Intel issued only a short press release in which it rejected all the accusations and emphasized that all the company's actions were in accordance with the legislation of the countries where it has conducted businesses.
Aside from the press release, there was another comment from Tom Beermann, Intel's spokesman, who said he is not shocked by AMD's decision and said that the accusations are part of a marketing and PR campaign.
