After AMD officially unveiled its Fusion platform yesterday, we were expecting the company's partners to start rolling out new and improved products based on this platform, and sure enough, that's exactly what happened, Acer being among the first notebook manufacturers out there to actually introduce such products, namely the new Aspire 5253 and 4253 models. The brand-new Aspire x253 series of portable computing systems from Acer is built around the new AMD E-Series Accelerated Processing Unit (APU), bringing about all of the advantages provided by this new platform in terms of computing and graphics power, as well as battery life.

The two new Aspire 5253 and 4253 models feature 15.4-inch and 14-inch form factors, respectively, and come equipped with high-definition Acer CineCrystal LED backlit displays, featuring a 16:9 aspect ratio.

Sticking to the hardware configuration, we'll also have to point out that these new notebooks come equipped with DDR3 memory (up to 8GB for the Aspire 5253), enabling a very good level of performance in just about any type of application, as well as large capacity hard disks, that should offer plenty of storage space for one's data.

The systems also feature Clear.fi, Acer’s new media sharing system, a cross-platform solution that works straight out of the box, automatically detecting the Clear.fi-enabled devices connected to the wireless home network, and then allowing all digital content stored on any of these to be shared using the Clear.fi media interface.

Additional features worth mentioning include the Acer InviLink 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi CERTIFIED supporting Acer SignalUp wireless technology, optional Bluetooth 3.0, as well as the built-in Acer Crystal Eye high-definition webcam and microphone.

The new notebooks from Acer are available in three color options, namely Mesh Black, Mesh Brown, and Mesh Red, and also sport an Acer FineTip keyboard and a multi-gesture touchpad.

Pricing and availability details have not yet been provided, but we certainly hope that Acer will mitigate this issue as soon as possible.
