That Advanced Micro Devices was going to release a new batch of accelerated processing units was known for a while, from multiple reports, and the great event has finally come to pass.

Advanced Micro Devices officially launched the newest accelerated processing units, built on the 40nm manufacturing process.

Their names are C-60, E-300 and E-450, the latter having already been spotted as part of such things as MSI's CR430 laptop.

The C-60 (TDP of 9W) is a dual-core model with a frequency of 1.0 GHz and the Radeon HD 6290 integrated graphics (267 MHz).

The Turbo Core technology is present, meaning that the clock speed can jump to 1.33 GHz (the graphics jump at 400 MHz).

The E-300 is also a dual-core model, with 1.3 GHz and Radeon HD 6310 graphics at 488 MHz (no mention of Turbo Core is made). The Bobcat cores and the GPU together consume 18W.

Finally, the E-450 has the same 18W TDP as above, two cores at 1.65 GHz and Radeon HD 6320 graphics at 508 MHz (600 MHz in Turbo Core).

“Today’s PC users want stunning HD graphics and accelerated performance with all-day battery life and that’s what AMD Fusion APUs deliver,” said Chris Cloran, vice president and general manager, Client Division, AMD.

“With these new APUs, we’re bringing premium features to entry-level products that let users get a richer computing experience.”

The newcomer support DDR3-1333 RAM, HDMI 1.4z, the DisplayPort ++ technology (connect to any HDTV or monitor with HDMI or DisplayPort) and up to 12 hours of resting battery life for the mobile platform (four more compared to previous generation), though the actual configurations will have final say on how long a notebook or netbook lasts.

OEMs are already receiving their orders, so laptops, all-in-one systems, ultrathins and desktops based on them should show up soon, if they haven't already.
