AMD's FX-9590 made the news a fair bit earlier than its official announcement because of its high clock speed of 5 GHz.

We have only just found some benchmarks of it, which we have posted here, and now we know its price too.

A while ago, some retailers began to accept pre-orders, despite AMD's supposed decision not to sell the chips to consumers.

The tag was of $960 at the time, or €750 – 960 according to exchange rates.

Now, with availability ramping up, the price has been shown to be lower, at least on eCost: $878.99 / €685 – 878.99.

Needless to say, the price is still staggering, even for an 8-core 5 GHz unit, if not to the same extent as on PC Connection (taken down) and AntaresPro. Still, at least it isn't the full one thousand dollars.
