Now you only need to invest time in finding a compatible motherboard

The FX-9370 and FX-9590 central processing units, with top clocks of 4.7 GHz and 5 GHz, respectively, have been paired with liquid cooling modules.

Previously, you had to buy the 8-core CPUs alone, then get a good closed-loop cooler, or install a full water cooling system in your desktop.

You also had to make sure you bought one of the few AM3+ motherboards that supported the chips.

In theory, any AM3+ platform would do, but the two processors have a very high TDP (thermal design power), higher than most mainboards can handle.

The chips with liquid coolers can be found on NewEgg and are called FD9370FHHKWOX and FD9590FHHKWOX.

FX-9370 bears a price of $290 / €214 and the FX-9590 of $390 / €288. Around $40 / €30 is the value of the cooler.

Truly low prices, given how they shipped for around $1,000 / €740 not too many months ago.
