AMD has just announced that it has cut the prices of its Phenom II line of processors, all the company's dual, quad and six-core CPUs, as well as the energy efficient Phenom II X4 905e and 910e, receiving new prices when bought in 1000 units.

As the ComputerBase.de website reports, AMD's new price list has entered into effect starting January 31.

Next to the regular models that have been listed by the Sunnyvale-based company for quite some time, we also get to see the first signs of life from the Phenom X4 975 Black Edition and the Phenom X4 840.

Launched at the beginning of the year, these CPUs haven't been spotted until now in the retail market, but availability is slated to change really soon.

On average, Phenom II X4 processors had their price reduced with about $10 US, while Phenom II X6 CPU are now listed approximately $20 lower than before.

The cheapest quad-core processors is the $105 Phenom II X4 840 CPU.

Next in line is the Phenom II X4 955 'Black Edition' that is clocked at 3.2GHz, features a 125 TDP as well as 6MB of cache L3 and is listed at $135.

The remaining three Phenom II X4 CPUs are clocked at 3.4GHz, 3.5GHz, and 3.6GHz, respectively, so a $20 increase in price will get you a 100MHz higher clock.

This means that going from an Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition to the top of the line Phenom II X4 975 Black Edition will cost the user a whopping $40.

Things look better when we take a look at the Phenom II X6 line as, except for the Phenom II X6 1100T Black Edition, an upgraded CPU will cost only $10 more.

The Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition is a particularly good deal since, when compared to the 1075T, it offers 200MHz more as well as an unlocked multiplier for just $10 US.

Finally, I'll let you take a look at the rest of AMD's piece list, so you can find the right solution for your needs.
