At first glance, one might say the G-Series chips that AMD has just released are fairly straightforward: x86 SoCs with integrated Radeon HD 8000 graphics.
Engadget made a very interesting observation though, one with potentially massive implications.
There is a small "X" at the bottom right corner of the logo.
The "X" is there to say that the G-Series are x86-based processors, which is where the observation comes in: everyone knows that AMD makes x86 processors, so the X is more or less redundant.
AMD's Arun Iyengar said something important though, not too much long ago: "Ultimately, we're going to have x86 and ARM in our product portfolio."
If one assumes that AMD doesn't consider the X redundant, one should, thus, also assume that ARM-based G-Series SoCs are planned for the future, and those won't bear the X.
