AMD have finally started to take their jobs seriously and have released yet another driver update, Catalyst 13.2 Beta 3.

Just as the name implies, this is a development release. Nonetheless, the changes are quite intriguing, if we take AMD’s word for it.

AMD Catalyst 13.2 Beta 3 for Linux only has a couple of changes, but they are entirely gaming and Steam for Linux oriented:

• Resolves a Team Fortress 2 performance issue with Ubuntu 12.04/12.10 and AMD Radeon HD 7000, 6000 Series GPU. Up to 300% performance improvement; • Resolves a Serious Sam 3 launching and corruption issue with Ubuntu 12.04/12.10 and AMD Radeon™ HD 7000, 6000 Series GPU.

What caught our attention was the claim that it would provide up to 300% performance improvement for Team Fortress 2, which is quite a demanding game.
