Advanced Micro Devices continues to revise its internal structure even now, over a year after the election of the Chief Executive Officer Rory Read. The CFO position is the one that switched bearers.

AMD has officially announced its newest Chief Financial Officer. Former Corporate Controller and Senior Vice President Devinder Kumar now has the post.

It took AMD a while to decide on this. Kumar has actually served as interim CFO since September 2012, so this is just a change on paper.

Kumar has a bachelor's degree from the University of Malaya, Malaysia and two master's degrees. One from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and one (in business administration) from University of California, Los Angeles.

Kumar has been with AMD for the past 28 years and this latest promotion will make sure he stays there for quite a few more.
