Just a short while ago, Micro-Star International expanded its laptop line based on the Intel Calpella platform by unveiling the FX600 and FR600 15.6-inch notebooks. Now, the same PC supplier has decided to make a move on the AMD front. Thus, it went ahead and unwrapped what can be seen as the reincarnation of the Wind12 U230, an ultra-mobile PC released last year. The newcomer is an 11.6-inch ultrathin by the name of Wind12 U230 Light and has already been listed on online retailers and the company's own website.

The Wind12 U230 Light has, at the heart of its configuration, an Athlon Neo MV-40 processor developed by Advanced Micro Devices. This CPU is backed up by 2GB of RAM and the Radeon HD 3200 integrated graphics. This video solution will have free reign over the LCD display, whose native resolution is of 1,366 x 768 pixels. Additionally, a hard drive brings 250GB of storage space to the equation.

Needless to say, being an ultrathin and, thus, built for mobility, the machine features all the connectivity and I/O options that a traveling companion is expected to have. The list includes Gigabit Ethernet, as well as a 1.3 megapixel webcam, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, three USB 2.0 ports, HD audio, two built-in speakers and a 4-in-1 card reader. Furthermore, the entire device is kept operational by a 6-cell battery and has all of its parts and chips crammed inside an enclosure measuring 11.7 x 7.49 x 0.55 x 1.22 inches. Finally, the laptop weighs 3.3 lbs and has a black-gray color theme.

The MSI Wind12 U230 Light can be seen in detail on its official product page and ordered, for $400, on Amazon. It is backed by a one-year warranty and comes pre-loaded with the Microsoft Window 7 Home Premium 64-bit Operating System.
