Advanced Micro Devices may have delivered the newest installment of its Catalyxt graphics driver suite, but some issues can still be encountered with certain hardware and software configurations, so the company also brought for a hotfix.

Owners of graphics cards from advanced Micro Devices should always make sure to install the most updated drivers available.

As such, if they haven't already, they might want to download the Catalyst 11.3 suite, which we covered in detail here.

Like all versions before it, the driver fixes some issues, adds new features and performs general updates for extra performance and reliability.

Performance of OpenCl-enabled applications is also boosted thanks to the AMD Accelerated Parallel Processing (APP) OpenCL runtime, the only real new and major addition over what was available in previous versions.

Still, not all known issues can be addressed in a single software package, as certain situations can cause errors.

Knowing this, AMD often releases a hotfix alongside any new Catalyst driver version, and this instance is no different in that regard.

One problem that can sprout up is the “No compatible hardware found" error message upon trying to install directly from the AMD download home page for AMD Radeon HD 4xxx, 3xxx and 2xxx series of AGP models.

This is because the above mentioned models do not have any WHQL drivers available.

As one would expect, the Sunnyvale, California-based supplier of CPUs, GPUs and APUs made the hotfix available separately for every supported version of the Microsoft Windows operating system/

Those that find themselves plagued by the above mentioned error need only download the fix directly from AMD's website or just follow one of the links below.
