AMD has added to its YouTube channel a new interactive video which details some of the features of its upcoming Bulldozer-based processors and that will also house future updates about the architecture as well as answer questions posted by readers.

The videos are listed in a menu-like structure and reveal some basic information about the platform used by the Bulldozer server processors, the chip's performance and an older video that showcases the upgrade process from the current 12-core Magny-Cours Opteron 6100 CPUs to the company's future 16-core Interlagos chips.

While these won't certainly bring anything new to those of you that have been keeping up to date with Bulldozer, it's nice to see that AMD still sticks to its initial plan regarding the Bulldozer launch (Q2 consumer and Q3 servers) and that it wants to keep its fans up to date with the latest Bulldozer developments.

Bulldozer is the name of AMD's upcoming high-performance architecture, and this will spawn three different CPU families: Zambezi for desktop users, Valencia for entry and mid-range servers and Interlagos for the HPC environment.

The last two will be compatible with the current C32 and G64 chipsets used for Opteron 4000 and 6000-series processors.

As far as Zambezi is concerned, the chip is expected to launch on June 11 (some sources say June 7) and, initially, AMD will release only four CPUs built using the new architecture.

However, all of these will feature the company's Turbo Core technology, an integrated DDR3-1866MHz memory controller and an unlocked multiplier as all of them are Black Edition parts.

Furthermore, the Zambezi FX chips will sport four, six or eight processing cores and up to 8MB of shared L3 cache memory.

The first pictures depicting a desktop Zambezi FX processor made their way to the Web earlier today.
