This is a follow-up to the report we made the previous week

Advanced Micro Devices likes to get as much attention as possible each time it launches a new accelerated processing unit, so it's a bit surprising that it didn't start shouting from the rooftops about the A10-6700T.

After all, the processor is a powerful chip, despite being a low-power version of the high-end A10 silicon.

Then again, the company could have simply not gotten around to making a press release about it. Market watchers are effective about uncovering info like that.

Which is to say, the specs were uncovered last week, as we wrote here, and now we find that sales have already started.

Sure, retail availability is only limited to China for now, but it's still a sight better than when it wasn't up for order anywhere.

The accelerated processing unit is a quad-core variant with 4 MB of cache memory, a clock speed of 2.5 GHz and Radeon HD 8650D graphics.

The core speed can increase depending on need, thanks to the Dynamic Boost technology. The top frequency is rated at 3.5 GHz.

As for the graphics chip, it uses 384 Stream processors and runs at 720 MHz of its own, although a boost state can be entered, in which case performance jumps to 840 MHz.

All in all, that feature set isn't bad for a TDP (thermal design power) of 45W.

A10-6700T is an oddball on the CPU and APU market really. Intel Intends to launch the Cherry Trail atoms sooner or later, which will use Broadwell GPU architecture and run on less than 6W. They will definitely undermine this 45W AMD processor, and the A10-6500T that will come after it.

They will also have the same price of $150 / €150 (A10-6500T ships for less than 1080 Yuan / $150 / €150 and the 6700T for 1080 Yuan or more / $176 / €176).
