Though AMD has yet to make the press release, online stores have made their move

Advanced Micro Devices will launch its Trinity A-Series desktop accelerated processing units either today (October 1) or tomorrow, but that may come across as somewhat belated to those who have happened to check online stores during the past 24 hours.

It was a month ago that the pre-order season opened, telling us the prices of the processor range, regardless of how conflicting the info was with that from other sources.

Now, worldwide retailer Amazon is selling the Trinity accelerated processing units, or three of them at least: A10-5800K, A10-5700 and A8-5600K.

The first is priced at $149.50, or 116 – 149 Euro, which isn't as low as the pre-order tags from a different retailer, but not too much higher either. Definitely not as high as the $160+ / 124-160 Euro the aforementioned “other sources” spoke of, and there is the matter of free shipping.

Some lucky people may even snag that special listing of the item for $133 / 104-133 Euro.

The second APU, A10-5700, for customers who prefer energy efficiency to overclocking, sells for $168.88 / 131-169 Euro.

The third processor we found on the site is the A8-5600K, at $110.38 / 83-110 Euro. It supposedly has a good balance of price and performance, with graphics notably weaker than on the A10-5800K (333% fewer GPU shader cores).

Keep in mind that these are the prices found on the online retailer's website at the time of this article's writing. Depending on various factors, the sums could go both up and down, especially since AMD has yet to release the official ones.

We'll be sure to cover the launch when it happens, as well as the motherboards and full desktop systems that will no doubt be revealed at the same time. Now we just need some full, unbiased reviews to see how the GPU (better) and CPU (not so) components of the AMD Trinity compare to Intel's lineup.
