AMC’s “Breaking Bad” is coming to an end this summer, when its fifth and final season airs. However, given the popularity of the show, the network is now seriously considering an idea that’s been floating around for some time: that of a spinoff.

It would allow the franchise to continue on air even without the duo Walter and Jesse.

Series creator Vince Gilligan and writer/producer Peter Gould are now hard at work at making a spinoff on Saul Goodman, the incredibly sleazy but ultimately efficient lawyer to whom Walter and Jesse turn for help in season 2.

Bob Odenkirk would, of course, reprise his role, Deadline has learned.

“Saul has served as Breaking Bad’s comic relief, which is not surprising given Odenkirk’s strong comedy background. As a result, I hear the potential spinoff is eyed as a comedy, which could be one-hour, but a half-hour format also is being explored,” the e-zine says.
