Christina Aguilera has long embraced her curves, coming to terms with the fact that she happens to have a fuller figure than before. Not everyone else has, it would seem.
At the 2012 American Music Awards, which were held at the Nokia Theater in LA on Sunday, Christina wore a gorgeous purple gown by Pamella Roland, a new blonde bob wig and matching sparkly Louboutins.
Because of the coloring of the dress, most fashion insiders agreed that Christina had finally opted for a cut that flattered her body instead of choosing something two numbers too small that only made her look bad.
A lot of people on Twitter did not exactly see things the same way, even taking to the social networking website to mock the singer for her fuller figure (quotes via In Case You Didn’t Know).
“Carrie Underwood is what Christina Aguilera thinks she looks like right now. And no one has the heart to tell her ‘NAWL’,” one user wrote.
“Christina Aguilera looks like Snooki. No wait, that’s an insult to Snooki,” added another. “Did Christina Aguilera eat one of Willy Wonka’s blueberries?” asked one user.
Of course, there were many who defended Aguilera too, saying she never looked and sounded better than she did at the AMAs 2012.
There were also voices who pointed out that, while the dress and the styling on Aguilera on the red carpet at the awards show were impeccable, she kind of ruined the effect with too much bronzer.
As the two photos also attached to this article will confirm, she did look a suspicious shade of sparkly orange – and that, Snooki knows, is never a good look for anyone.
