Carrie Underwood wasn’t really in the mood to get the party started at last night’s American Music Awards, the 2012 edition. Much like Taylor Swift, she too sang about broken hearts and death.

Above is Carrie’s amazing performance of “Two Black Cadillacs,” her latest hit single.

Looking as breathtakingly beautiful as always, Carrie rocked an all-black outfit as she belted the lyrics to her famous track about a man who’s mourned by two women, his wife and his lover.

At the end, Underwood got a standing ovation from the members of the audience, a much deserved token of admiration and respect.

More importantly, that’s not all she got: also at the AMAs, she won Favorite Country Album for her latest record “Blown Away.” She’d been nominated twice.

Enjoy Carrie’s performance!
