AIMP is one of the apps that are expected to successfully replace Winamp after its retirement, although it's not yet clear whether AOL indeed plans to discontinue its famous media player or not.

AIMP, on the other hand, has received a new update this morning, so all users running it right now should get the new version as soon as possible, as it integrates several fixes and performance improvements for all Windows builds.

AIMP 3.55 build 1331 comes with enhancements for the sound engine and the tag editor, while the implemented fixes are aimed at the audio converter, the bookmarks manager, the playlist support, and the skin engine.

While this doesn't seem to be such a significant update, it's still important for users to get the new version, as many of the bugs reported in previous builds are supposed to be fixed now.

Overall, this application is clearly worth a look, especially because Winamp could soon go dark, so download AIMP 3.55 build 1331 right now to see what it's up to.
