AOL is out with a new release of its AIM app which allows iPhone owners to freely chat with friends on AIM, Facebook and Google Talk, share images, voice messages, share their location, and more.

AIM 5.1.0 allows users to get updates from Facebook, Instagram and AIM in a single window. Previously, users had to switch through multiple screens to get their Facebook updates.

You can now like Facebook and AIM posts right from the app, and you can employ AIM to post your status to Facebook or compose a Tweet.

A few fixed bugs are mentioned, including one which caused incorrect message counts and notifications, as well as an issue with YouTube videos not playing in chat.

AIM is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad and requires iOS 5.0 or later.
