Once among the most popular messaging apps for mobile devices, AIM has been updated with lots of bug fixes and performance enhancements.

AIM users will probably be happy to know AOL re-introduced custom groups. It looks like those who use previous versions of AIM and wish to set up buddy groups will be able to do so as the contact will now be sorted using them.

The latest update also brings more flexible chat storage options, allowing for chats to be kept private between the user and some of his contacts.

As we already mentioned, the update adds quite a number of bugs, along with some performance enhancements, which have yet to be detailed by AOL.

AIM 2.4.7.2 is now available as a free download via Google Play store and it should be fully compatible with all devices running Android 2.1 and up. Check it out here.
