AGEIA is a well known company among the gamers, game development firms and hardware manufacturers communities that introduced some time ago a revolutionary processor dedicated to complex calculations that could make computer games feel more real. Unfortunately, the hardware support for such calculations already existed in the form of the more general use central processing unit, so the AGEIA dedicated hardware that comes in the form of an add-on PCI based card did not make a big splash on the gamer market. One other motive may be the quite high price of such an add-on card that reached the level of a middle to high end
graphics card.

As games to support and implement the AGEIA PhysX engine are only a few and far between, the company is desperately to promote its product and increase its adoption rate between both desktop and mobile computer users. So, in a daring move, AGEIA decided to launch a mobile version of their PhysX engine that was tweaked for mobile use in high end notebooks. The first PhysXMobile processor, the AGEIA PhysX 100M, is going boost the entire laptop and notebook gaming world if AGEIA's claims are to be taken seriously.

"AGEIA is fully committed to delivering the most intensely realistic gaming and entertainment experience to PC gamers," said Manju Hegde, chief executive officer of AGEIA Technologies, in a press release concerning the launch of the mobile processor. "We are enabling enthusiasts to enjoy games their way: whenever and wherever they want. AGEIA PhysX Mobile Technology further expands our position in the gaming market and we look forward to seeing new laptops bring gamers the freedom to enjoy incredible physics action on the go."

As the notebooks are becoming more and more powerful, as they integrate dual and quad core processor designs, more RAM memory modules, better graphics cards and larger and clearer displays, they are starting to attract the attention of the gaming communities and this is the moment AGEIA was waiting for. The company stated that the mobile computing industry is advanced enough to support the real-time physics and destructible environments that are offered by the PhysX 100M processor.
