A new report published in the scientific journal Neurology this past March 13 says that quite a lot of teens and children in the United States work on the assumption that ADHD drugs can help them study and therefore take them on a fairly regular basis.

Furthermore, it appears that some parents even go through the trouble of providing such drugs for their offspring, hoping that their using them will make them perform better in school.

The drugs most commonly used as study aids are Ritalin and Adderall, yet it appears that many others are also quite popular.

Although it is very much true that some of these teens and kids actually need these drugs in order to be able to properly function when in society, experts believe that those who misuse them are not equipped to deal with their side effects, USA Today reports.

Specialists believe that doctors would do best to pay closer attention to whom they prescribe such drugs and make sure that teens do not share or sell the pills they obtain.
