It is made of an alloy of zinc so as to resemble titanium

Even if a flash drive isn't rugged, it helps sales if it looks like it. That is what ADATA must have thought, among other things, when it created the UV130 USB Flash Drive.

The company has proved remarkably vague about what USB standard is supported here, which probably means that only USB 2.0 performance is available (480 Mbps), instead of USB 3.0 (5 Gbps).

A shame really, since the look of the drive, streamlined and shiny, would have paired well with the higher performance allowed by SuperSpeed Universal Serial Bus.

Then again, USB 2.0 will ensure a lower price, and the storage capacities (of 8 GB and 16 GB) aren't so large that it would take ages to fill. 32 GB, 64 GB and everything over that would have been a different matter.

In truth, the ADATA UV130 USB Flash Drive is mostly meant to act as a practical fashion accessory, with its sturdy shell and bent rear section, where you can attach a lanyard or keychain.

Finally, the product measures 44.2 x 16.85 x 8 mm / 1.74 x 0.66 x 0.31 inches and weighs 8 grams / 0.28 oz. Sadly, the company did not provide a price for its latest creation.
