They look like torsos wearing one of six multicolored jerseys

Apparently believing that there is nothing morbid about limb-less and headless bodies, ADATA has launched a line of flash drives that look like torsos. Then again, we suppose it's no different from admiring a bust sculpture.

The new series of flash drive units is called NBA Pro Series, because it has been licensed by the US National Basketball Association.

The drives look like the torsos of athletes, each wearing a different colored jersey, corresponding to today's six most popular players.

Said players are Lebron James from Miami Heat, Kobe Bryant from LA Lakers, Derrick Rose from Chicago Bulls, Chris Paul from LA Clippers, Jeremy Lin from Houston Rockets, and Kevin Durant from Oklahoma City Thunder.

All the flash drives use the COB (Chip on board) manufacturing process, which makes them at once rugged and compact.

The ruggedness is actually a primary asset. ADATA Technology made it a special point to mention that the NBA Pro Series USB Flash drives are resistant to liquids and impacts.

The impacts are easy to believe. After all, it's not like these puny things weigh all that much, so they can never acquire enough momentum to shatter or crumple, unless you smash them with a rock deliberately, or something along those lines.

Water resistance was a bit trickier, but not by much. ADATA essentially “dressed” the things in a durable rubber material.

Furthermore, for easy carrying and peace of mind that you won't randomly lose the things (a common fear when the drives are so tiny), the newcomers have strap holes, to hang form key rings or chains.

As for capacity, it is of 16 GB, which is decent. Not too high and not too low. The SuperSoeed USB 3.0 interface will make sure files are copied to and from the USB units quickly.

ADATA's NBA Pro Series USB flash drives should be made available for sale in a matter of days, if they haven't already. Their prices aren't known though.
