14 DAY TRIAL // Paddle-sports and outdoor retailer Austin Canoe and Kayak, in collaboration with iOS developer Phunware, have announced the launch of the ACK Kayak Launch Points application for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad.
ACK Kayak Launch Points is described as an application developed by paddlers for paddlers.
It aims to provide a unique experience for canoe and kayak enthusiasts worldwide with more than 14,000 marked kayak and canoe launch points, the ability to rate and create lists of favorite launch points, and integration with social networking services like Facebook and Twitter.
“Our main goal with this App is to break down the ‘where to paddle’ barrier by not only giving users access to tens of thousands of launch points, but also empowering them to add and share their own,” said Peter Messana, CEO of Austin Canoe and Kayak.
“We are excited to help grow people’s interest in paddling, contributing to an already rapidly expanding sport,” Messana added.

The ACK Kayak Launch Points app is immediately available for download from the iTunes App Store for $1.99.
The software requires an iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad and iOS 3.1 or later.
