Last month, Softpedia ventured in the jungle of image viewing applications to find the most popular viewer employed by users.

We had many applications competing for the Softpedia User's Choice Award, among which ACDSee, IrfanView, XnView, Picasa, Microsoft Max, but only two stood out from the crowd. We are talking about ACDSee and IrfanView.

Despite the fact that IrfanView is completely free, it
seems that users preferred reputation, ACDSee scoring the highest number of votes, 249, or 28.73%. That is why, this month, the Softpedia User's Choice Award goes to ACDSee.

On the other hand, since IrfanView is a one man effort (Irfan Skiljan's effort to be more precise), one could say that its result is more than impressive. Of the total number of votes, 867, IrfanView got 20.07%

The third place was disputed by Picasa and XnView, which got 90 votes and 83 respectively. As you can see, Picasa got 7 votes more, which allowed it to occupy the third place.

Of the remaining viewers, FastFastStone Image Viewer is the only one which got more than 20 votes, the others being under this figure.

ACDSee 8.0 build 41 has been certified by Softpedia as being 100% Clean and is available for download here.

IrfanView 3.98 has been certified by Softpedia as being 100% Clean and is available for download here.

Finally some justice in the world...

The first SoftPedia vote where the "REAL" winner won...

IE is better than FireFox, yet FireFox won.
Outlook/Outlook Express is much better than ThunderBird, yet TB won.
AIM should have won, based on the popularity of the network, yet YIM won (though YIM is more deserving...but numbers of users on the network should have dictated otherwise).
Kaspersky is the best AntiVirus on the planet...yes somehow Norton won with a wide margin.
Video Lan Client is the best media player on earth, yet the WMP hack, Media Player Classic, won...what a joke! INCLUDED THAT WINDOWS XP ALREADY HAS WMP 6.2 ON IT!!!!!
