AC Milan Unhappy With Italian Verdict

You might think that AC Milan is a lucky club after knowing the Calciopoli verdict, but you'll be wrong. At least that's how it looks in the eyes of the Milanese officials. Being one of the most important and powerful clubs in the history of Serie A - the only one, besides Juventus, that never relegated into Serie B - AC Milan could not be happy with the fact that they'll miss next year's Champions League. Of course, they have a pretty good chance of playing in the UEFA Cup, but we all know that's just a second-hand competition.

So Milan have (too) appealed the
Federal Appeal Commission decision to start the next season with a 15-point deduction and losing 44 points in last season's standings. Still, they don't contest last year's deduction. The Milanese officials are just asking for minor penalties for the next season. And that means voiding the 15-point deduction. More, it seems that Silvio Berlusconi is very much missing his former employee.

AC Milan is also asking that their former president - Adriano Galliani - should be allowed to take his job back. The CAF decided, on Friday, that the official is banned from football for a year. Still, Silvio Berlusconi doesn't have the slightest idea on how to manage a Serie A club, despite his passion for AC Milan. So the Italian former PM is trying his best to get Galliani back.

As for the European season, AC Milan is still in doubt. Empoli is the last team to qualify for the UEFA Cup this season. Still, it seems that the club does not have the UEFA license for participating in European competition. And the next club in the standings - after the 44-point deduction for last year - is Milan. So it's only natural for the Milanese side to take Empoli's place in the UEFA. Still, it is yet to see whether the European body will allow Milan to compete.

As far as keeping their players in concerned, Milan already lost Shevchenko before the World Cup, and a few more players are to leave, according to the European tabloids. Gattuso to Manchester, Nesta to Chelsea and Kaka to Real Madrid/Chelsea are just a few of those rumors.
