The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) has launched Science Population, an iPad app that offers a detailed look at global population growth and its impact on critical areas.

Science ranks as the world’s largest general science journal. It was founded in 1880 with the help of Thomas Edison.

Touching topics like lifespan, education, health, and economics, the Science Population app features peer-reviewed research from Science, news articles, videos, podcasts, and interactive graphs.

According to the AAAS, “the Science Population app is your guide to the complex challenges facing a world whose population is at 7 billion people and counting.”

Science Population is compatible only with the Apple iPad and requires iOS 3.2 or later. It costs $4.99 (3.99 EUR).
