Ad free radio shows and the possibility of downloading songs directly on the cell phone are the most wanted services for US's youths. This is the conclusion of a study carried out by Management Network Group, a consultancy company.
Another interesting conclusion of the survey is that users would rather have a video service with commercials than a subscription-based
video service. Verizon Wireless and Sprint already offer such video services for cell phones.
Many wireless service operators hope the music or video streaming services will generate significant income, despite the uncertain response of the users to this offer.
The study points out that approximately 40% of the 1,000 users with ages ranging from 13 to 34 years are very interested in ad free radio services for their cell phones and 35% of them have expressed their desire to download music on cell phones.
40% of the respondents have express their interest in a mobile video service backed by ads, whereas 20% of them said they are willing to pay a monthly fee of $4 for this service, or 20 cents for each downloaded video clip.
The American cell phone operators will launch next year complete download services for cell phones, but there are many issues related to prices and to the area of interest.
