The fact that iLuv is one of the biggest and most respected manufacturers of iPod and other MP3 players accessories is one common knowledge, at least for those of you who really dig the gadget-world. From cases to extended battery packs and from the smallest, simplest docks to the big-sized stations, iLuv has them all in great quality and for affordable prices.
The SEEK 2007 in Korea was the event chosen by iLuv for launching one of their coolest devices so far, the Wing iPod/Yepp docking station. Not that this particular mode would do a series of things never done before by such pieces of technology, but it brings a whole new concept of multimedia integration.
Basically, one would expect to connect a new-generation PMP to this dock, such as a Video iPod or Yepp T9 (as pictured). Such gear means a small LCD screen which allows you to experience more of your media, namely watch movies or videos of your fav artists. Since we're talking movies and LDC screens, we can speak about watching them in a - tiny, it's true - widescreen mode. Well, in the case of classic docking stations there is no such thing as widescreen-mode simply because the respective portable players have only one position and that is the vertical one.
The iLuv Wing sports a rotative docking bay which clamps the player and holds in position and thus prevents it from falling down when tilted. This way you can enjoy both the sound of your media and at the same time watch the video data in better conditions. The iLuv Wing has gotten its name because the actual speakers of the station are curved and surrounding the player, creating a shape very close to that of a wing.
The iLuv Wing can blast a max output of 20W; more specs are expected shortly.
